Capabilities and expertise

First principles modelling (Heisenberg J evaluation) using Questaal (https://www.questaal.org), Wannier90 (https://www.wannier.org), KKR & related electronic structure methods.

Research and Development interests

I am the Scientific Secretary of the UK's large electronic structure network "CCP9" and organise the provision of networking and training events as well as method and code support (as part of STFC's Computational Science Centre for Research Communities, CoSeC) in a number of UK code projects. CCP9 currently engages with around 40 UK academic groups active in computational condensed matter. My personal research interests are into the first principles evaluation of Heisenberg interactions and the dynamical susceptibility for magnetic materials based on the advanced (highly accurate) many-body perturbation theory implementation in Questaal which provides a suitable basis for describing strongly correlated materials. I am also interested in modelling crystal field excitations in these materials.
