About
AFMNET is a research network on antiferromagnetic (AFM) materials and ultrafast magnetic processes. Funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, AFMNET’s mission is to build an interdisciplinary community to carry out world leading research and drive delivery of technological solutions
Our objectives
Act as a UK point of contact for study and exploitation of AFMs and ultrafast magnetism.
Promote the field and network, and provide a database of UK capability.
Publish an academic review and a white paper on AFM and ultrafast magnetism.
Deliver training for early career researchers (ECRs) to generate a skilled workforce able to develop and exploit AFM materials and ultrafast magnetic phenomena
Conduct outreach work to attract new talent from underrepresented groups.
Enhance UK benefit from EPSRC grants and grow investment from business, including from Innovate UK.
